More Cold War Kids at last!

After a taunting EP release and no follow up international tour, Cold War Kids have gone back to the studio and are returning down under in early January. They'll play The Falls and some sideshows. Yippee!! JJJ have the deets.

The new LP Mine Is Yours is out late January.

The eleven-track LP was recorded in Nashville and L.A. with Jacquire King at the helm. Nathan Willet told Rolling Stone: "We wanted to do something more epic. On our last records, there are a lot of really kinky, out-of-tune vocal parts that are emotionally good — but this record was really about getting it right."

Here's their teaser vid for 'Royal Blue' - which you can get online here.

He may be old and way too surgically....enhanced seems the wrong word somehow...but this made me laugh.

Paul Hogan came home for his mother's funeral and was detained by the Tax Office for (alleged) unpaid taxes. When they finally let him leave the country he arrived at the airport thus:

Flamingo Friday!

Loving Flamingo Friday. Long may it reign.

This first solo album from Brandon Flowers is bliss.

Romantic, fun, sexy, sentimental, sweeping stuff.

You will not be disappointed!

"Larry promises to play in time..."

"Larry promises to play in time, I promise to play in tune, Bono's gonna run around a lot and do really cool things and Adam…what are you gonna do? Adam: I'm gonna hit a few cricket balls."

And new songs?

U2360: new leg, new look, new job?

Yup, they're back.
U2360 V3 opened in Turin last night.
Bono's bad back is history.
Bono's hair is the future*.
And more importantly, his swagger is fully intact.

More swagger at rolling stone

u2.com has a great update on the show, including this band intro:

...this was a special night with the band back on stage and playing live for the first time in nine months. It was a bit of a family occasion.

'You care a lot about family in Italy, right?' asked Bono. 'This band is also a family: the black sheep of the family, Adam Clayton on bass guitar; on the drums, the baby of the band, Larry Mullen Jnr; and The Edge, our middle child... it's his birthday on Sunday.'

Cue 40,000 Italians singing Happy Birthday to Edge.

'And I'm the prodigal son,' continued Bono. 'And I want to thank you for all the love and letters you've sent me in recent months, thanks for that. That's in the past now and I'm very much fit for the future...'

Oh, and according to the ace types @U2 the boys took a bit of time out from rehearsal this week to be fabulous deliver pizza to fans. Yes. Even Larry...

*yes, it needs a big kiss

Didn't you get the memo? Little Bo-Peep day got cancelled

While i try to figure out if this is the (lovely) wife or not, the B man recuperates in the south of France. Bless him, and his sheep.
